About your birth chart
A birth chart is a picture of the sky at the exact moment you were born, seen from the exact place you were born. Everything in it comes from three things: your date, your time and your city. Change the city and the picture changes, which is why the form asks for all three.
Most people meet themselves through three pieces of it. Your Sun sign is what you are reaching toward, the thing you are here to become. Your Moon sign is what you need in order to feel safe, and it usually shows up at home rather than at work. Your rising sign is the door people come through first, the way you meet a room before anyone knows you.
The rest of the chart is where it gets personal: twelve houses that say which part of life each planet is busy with, and the aspects, the angles between planets, which say whether they are helping each other or pulling in opposite directions. Your reading walks through all of it in plain words.
Common questions
What do I need to calculate my birth chart?
Your date of birth, your time of birth and the city you were born in. The time matters more than people expect: the rising sign moves through all twelve signs in a day, so an hour of difference can change it completely.
What if I do not know my birth time?
You still get a real chart. Say so in the form and your Sun, your planets and the aspects between them are all read as normal. The rising sign and the houses are left out rather than guessed, because a guessed rising sign is worse than none.
What is the difference between my Sun, Moon and rising sign?
The Sun is what you are growing toward, the Moon is what you need to feel safe, and the rising sign is how you arrive somewhere before anyone knows you. When someone says their sign, they almost always mean the Sun, and the other two are usually the ones that explain the parts that never fit.
