Your card today

One card a day is the oldest habit in tarot and the one that teaches you the most. A single card has nowhere to hide. You meet it in the morning, you carry it around, and by evening you have usually seen it happen somewhere in your day.

The card does not tell you what will happen. It gives you something to notice. Draw the Eight of Pentacles and you start seeing every place you are practising something. Draw the Five of Cups and you notice what you have been grieving and what is still standing behind you.

Your card is the same for the whole day and changes at your midnight, in your own time zone. Come back tomorrow and there is a new one waiting.

The daily card reads best before you read it. Look at it first: what is in the scene, who has their back turned, what spills or what blooms. Say in one sentence what you think it says. Only then open the meaning. That order, remembering before you are told, is what turns a habit into a practice, and it is why the card on this page stays face down until you turn it.

Under your card there is another one: today's card for everyone. It comes from the date, it is the same for anyone who arrives today, and it is read next to the day's sky, the Moon's phase and the sign it crosses. Your card is yours; that one belongs to the table. When they match, pay attention to the day.
