The 78 cards split into 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana. The Majors name the big chapters of a life: change, love, loss, endings, arrival. The Minors name daily life: the conversation, the money, the tiredness, the plan. When a Major appears, the reading is about something larger than this week.
The 22 Majors: the chapters
The Majors run from The Fool at zero to The World at twenty one. Read in order they tell one story: someone leaves home, meets what teaches them, loses what they were sure of, and comes back whole.
In a spread, a Major is not louder because it is worse. It is louder because it is slower. These things do not resolve by Friday.
The 56 Minors: the days
The Minors are four suits of fourteen cards each. Ace through ten, then four court cards. They cover the texture of an ordinary week, which is where most of a life actually happens.
A spread made only of Minors is good news for anyone who feels stuck. It means the situation is still yours to move.
What the mix tells you
Count the Majors before you read anything else. Three Majors in a three card spread means life is doing something to you, and the useful question becomes how you meet it, not how you control it.
No Majors at all means the opposite. The size of this is human sized. You are allowed to make a decision and move on.
