What the card shows
A dancing figure floats inside a great wreath of laurel, holding a light wand in each hand, wrapped only in a violet sash. In the four corners, the four faces that watched from the Wheel of Fortune appear again: the story has come all the way around. The wreath is tied top and bottom into the sign of infinity. Completion here is not an ending; it is a dance that finally includes everything.

Upright, The World gathers its themes into one current: completion, wholeness, arrival. As a late Major Arcana, it belongs to the deck's chapters of return: what survived the tests comes back larger, and it asks to be lived, not just understood. Read it as a chapter heading: the current around you is larger than the day.
The World reversed
So close, and not closed. Reversed, the World names the missing piece, the conversation not had, the last step not taken. Finish it properly or it will follow you.
Reversed, The World keeps its subject and loses its flow: completion is still the theme, now blocked, delayed or turned inward. A reversed late Major means an arrival delayed from inside: the outcome is close, and something in you is still negotiating with it.
