Reversed cards
A reversed tarot card is the same card with its energy turned inward, delayed, or overdone. The Sun reversed is still joy, but joy you are not letting in. Reversals are optional: many readers only use upright cards, and their readings are not worse. Choose one way and stay with it for a while.
Three ways to read a reversal
Inward: the energy is there but you are keeping it private. Blocked: the energy is trying and something is in the way. Too much: the energy is running past the point where it helped.
Try all three on the same card and keep the one that makes you uncomfortable. That is almost always the accurate one.
The hard cards get gentler
Reversed, the heaviest cards often ease. The Tower reversed can be the collapse you avoided, or one you are choosing to control. Death reversed can be a change you are refusing, which is uncomfortable but survivable.
When to leave them out
