What the card shows
Lightning strikes a tower built on a peak of bare rock, and the blow knocks the crown clean off its top. Flames fill the windows and two figures fall through the night, headfirst. The tower was tall, and it was built on too narrow a base. What the lightning removes in one second is everything that was already false.
The Tower upright
Upright, the Tower is sudden structural truth. Something built tall, a certainty, an arrangement, an image, a plan, takes a hit it cannot absorb, and the fall is fast precisely because the base was narrow. What the card wants you to notice is what the lightning actually strikes: the crown, the false top, the part that claimed to be permanent. Towers almost never fall on people who were not living in one. Drawn today, it says: do not spend this moment gluing the old shape back together. The shaking is the most honest thing that has happened in a while, and what survives it is what was real all along.

You feel the tremor and you're holding the walls up with both hands. Reversed, the Tower warns: a needed collapse postponed only grows taller before it falls.
