The Major Arcana are the 22 cards that name the big turns of a life: falling in love, losing something, starting over, growing up. They run from the Fool at zero to the World at twenty one, and they are read as one journey. When one of them lands in your spread, the reading is about something that changes you, not something on your calendar.

There is an old habit of calling the majors the important cards and the rest filler. It is worth dropping. The majors describe weather, the kind that arrives whether or not you planned for it. The minors describe what you do while it rains. A reading with no majors is not a small reading. It usually means the answer is in your hands this week.
The order matters more than most people are told. The Fool steps off the cliff at zero and everything after is what he meets. Early numbers are beginnings and appetite.
